How they compare

EZ Screen is spot-color separation software for screen printers; third-party roundups have listed it at around $795. Check the vendor's own site for current features and pricing, since those lists go stale.

AI Separations covers spot color and simulated process, adds automatic white underbase and highlight white, and includes the business side most sep tools leave out: instant job quoting and separating to the inks you already stock. It's $179 one-time with a free trial.

Where AI Separations is different

  • Try before you buy, on your own file: the preview on this page uses the same engine as the app.
  • AI prep: background removal, upscaling and an AI artwork redraw for rough customer files.
  • Ink count from the art itself: inks are kept by how much of the design they actually print, so JPEG noise doesn't add screens.
  • Quote and ink match from the same file.
